Project Overview

The film starts with a mock trial during the rehearsal of a play quickly turns into a gripping drama about desire, gender issues, power, and control. It is an adaptation of playwright Vijay Tendulkar's Shantata! Court Chalu Aahe, a Marathi play written in 1963.

This is the second film adapted by the studio from playwright Sachin Tendulkar's works thus the visual treatment is similar to the previous film opening sequence 'Khamosh Adalat Jari Hai' (Quite, the court is in session) which I worked on creating. Through the stylistic approach, the opening sequence helped establish the context of the characters and the place. I was reflecting the unfriendly and harsh tone of the film which leads me to create a palette of cool colors for the sequence.
