Project Overview

The film starts with a mock trial during the rehearsal of a play quickly turns into a gripping drama about desire, gender issues, power, and control. It is an adaptation of playwright Vijay Tendulkar's Shantata! Court Chalu Aahe, a Marathi play written in 1963.

I went through various style treatment for the sequence before locking this. I worked on as an assistant editor on this project as well which gave me a better idea of how to approach the opening title sequence. The film is based during the 1960s era and is a courtroom drama, which leads me to give it a dated look and felt like old court documents as well. The final result was a list of credit frames of the ensemble cast with ink texture overlay over their stills with a background of layered old paper and texture.
